dhrive is now open source
Today the dhrive app is open source. The Rust that drives Claude Code and Codex, the interface you run your companies in, every line of the macOS app is public. Follow [@DHRIVE](https://x.com/DHRIVE).
git clone https://dhrive.company/dhrive.gitcd dhrive && npm ci --prefix frontendcargo tauri dev
Why open
dhrive runs on your Mac, inside your folders, with the agents you trust with your code. You should be able to read exactly what it does with them.
The people who use dhrive build software for a living. The fastest way to make it better is to let them change it.
And a company that runs itself shouldn't be a black box. We're starting with ours.
The license, in plain words
The code is under the Functional Source License (FSL-1.1-ALv2), which Sentry wrote for companies that want their code open without handing it to a clone.
- You can read it, run it, change it and share it, for yourself, your company, teaching or research
- You can't use it to sell a product that competes with dhrive
- Two years after each version ships, that version becomes Apache 2.0, with no conditions
- The dhrive name and logo stay ours
How dhrive makes money
The app is open. What we charge for runs on our side: your account, the host that puts each company's website on dhrive.site, custom domains, and the signed build that updates itself.
After 14 free days it's a subscription, on the pricing page. A build from source signs in to the same account.
